<hi style=afpcap>The Dayton-Wright TW-3 primary trainer had just started production when the parent company General Motors closed the company down. The design rights as well as the contract were purchased by the Consolidated Aircraft Corporation in 1923. Two were produced by Dayton-Wright, with a further 18 built by Consolidated. The TW-3 enabled the new company to gain a foothold on the potentially lucrative trainer market, with several more designs flowing throughout the twenties and early thirties.</hi>
